Description

Tried to correct a number of issues with this (re) composition, primarily attempting to obtain the proper colors of the reflection nebula IC 444 (lost in the HOO composition) while not sacrificing the vastly superior contrast and resolution of the narrowband imagery. Also, I had quite a lot of chromatic aberration in the broadband images, as well as blobby star shapes, I think my flattener spacing was off.
I constructed a synthetic luminance from Ha + star removed Oiii, R, G, and B, replaced the chrominance with the RGB chroma, then added back the RGB stars through a mask constructed from the Ha star profiles. Then endless color masking and tweaks as always. Minimal Topaz Denoise (Low Light, NR 1, Sharpen 1, 50% faded blend).  There is still some color blobbiness remaining, probably would benefit from more data, but my adapters for a 0.8 reducer came in so will probably just reshoot all of the channels again at some future date.
Thanks for looking!
